1012 Mahia East Coast Road

A single storey home, clad with board and batten featuring traditional timber facings & wrap around verndah.

We were very heavily lent on for design and inspiration for this home which made it an absolute pleasure to build. The bespoke black oxide benchtop was hand fabricated on site, including paua shell waterfall feature. The rustic shelving, coffee table and floating island in the master bathroom were all hand crafted from driftwood. Matai flooring was lain throughout, giving a stark contrast between benchtop & stove and the neutral colours on the ceilings and wall. The Homewood companion stove is a pivotal piece of this home, providing both hot water and warmth in the winter, conserving the power which is produced on a solar array.

A big thank you to Scott from Peninsula Plumbing, Mark & Maz from Onshore Electrical, the Gisborne Rewinds team, Karl Horn Drainage, Robbie Beal Contracting and Becky from Running Barefoot consulting whom all were a part of this project.
